Spring Mills made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Musselman, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Spring Mills blew past Musselman 12-6 on Friday. 12 seems to be a good number for the Cardinals as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Jacob Cumley tossed a big game, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits.

At the plate, Spring Mills got a massive performance out of Bryce Anders, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Landon Stanley, who scored a run while going 2-for-5.

Spring Mills hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Musselman struck out nine times.

The win made it two in a row for Spring Mills and bumps their season record up to 4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Musselman, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 2-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Spring Mills will face off against Frankfort at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Spring Mills' pitchers better be ready for this one: Frankfort has averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season. As for Musselman, they will challenge Pendleton County at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
