The McComb Tigers will square off against the Leake Central Gators at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
McComb is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They blew past Greene County 68-26. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi football rankings (they are ranked 31st, while the Wildcats are ranked 136th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jace Jackson was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 131 yards and two TDs on only eight carries. That's the most rushing touchdowns he has posted since back in September. Jarvis Anderson was another key rusher, rushing for 59 yards and one touchdown on only six carries.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: McComb was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 261 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
McComb's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Cameron Hackett, Keyshaun Baker, and Trey Ellis, who each picked up one sack apiece. Delwin Perkins Jr was another major factor on D, making three total tackles and defending four passes in addition to snagging two interceptions.
Meanwhile, Leake Central had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19 points) and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They blew past the Rangers, posting a 43-14 win. The Gators' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
McComb better keep an eye on Israel Ross. He was instrumental in Leake Central's win, picking up 78 receiving yards and a pair of scores, while also rushing for 54 yards and two TDs on only five carries. Javario Daley helped out on the ground, rushing for 87 yards and a rushing touchdown.
McComb's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Leake Central, their win bumped their record up to 9-2.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. McComb has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 147.7 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Leake Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 238.3 rushing yards.
