Mooresville is 9-0 against Greenwood since November of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Mooresville Pioneers will head out on the road to face off against the Greenwood Woodmen at 7:30 p.m. Mooresville is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.
Mooresville has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 21 points or more this season. Everything went their way against Bloomington North on Saturday as Mooresville made off with a 59-38 win.
Mooresville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ava Shafer led the charge by scoring 18 points along with 5 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Shafer has scored at least 25% of Mooresville's points. Another player making a difference was Kalyn Bunch, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 61 points the game before, Greenwood were a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They took a serious blow against Franklin Community, falling 73-23. Greenwood has not had much luck with Franklin Community recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Their wins bumped Mooresville to 10-2 and Bloomington North to 7-3.
Everything came up roses for Mooresville against Greenwood in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 as the team secured a 51-23 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mooresville since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
