Picayune fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Pascagoula on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 7-6. The Maroon Tide's loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Parker Helton was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Moreaux, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Picayune's defeat dropped their record down to 13-2. As for Pascagoula, they moved to 4-10 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

While Picayune had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
