The Aquinas Knights won the last time they faced the Rittman Indians, and things went their way on Monday too. In a tight game that could have gone either way, Aquinas made off with a 42-41 victory over Rittman.
Leading Aquinas to victory were Paris Everett and K'Lynn Carter. Everett almost dropped a triple-double on 15 points, 14 rebounds, and nine steals, while Carter dropped a double-double on 20 points and 14 rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Carter has scored at least a third of Aquinas' points.
Aquinas' victory bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Rittman, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Aquinas will challenge John F. Kennedy Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. John F. Kennedy Catholic presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Aquinas in Ohio (John F. Kennedy Catholic is ranked 197th, while Aquinas is ranked 596th). As for Rittman, they will head out on the road to challenge Northwestern at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Northwestern is on a three-game streak of home losses, Rittman a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
