The Killingly Redmen fought the good fight in their overtime contest against the Putnam Clippers on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 67-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Clippers. Killingly was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Putnam apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Noah Rudman was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 32 points and 13 rebounds for Putnam. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rudman has scored all season. Nicholas Devlin was another key contributor, scoring 22 points.
Killingly has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Putnam, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.
Killingly will be playing at home against Wheeler at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Wheeler will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Putnam, they will head out on the road to square off against Stonington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Stonington's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five contests.
