Baseball Recap: Providence School Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Providence School had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They walked away with an 8-5 victory over the John Carroll Catholic Rams. That's two games straight that the Stallions have won by exactly three runs.

The team relied heavily on Grant Sheppard, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That home run was his first of the season. Gavin Duva was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Providence School's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for John Carroll Catholic, the defeat snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 6-1 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Providence School will welcome Bolles at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bolles is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season. As for John Carroll Catholic, they will be playing at home against American Heritage at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
