Basketball Recap: Morgan Falls Despite Big Games from Tavian Myers and Luke Coleman

Morgan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They fell 70-60 to the Crooksville Ceramics. The Raiders were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Ceramics earlier this season, when they won 65-49.

Despite the defeat, Morgan had strong showings from Luke Coleman, who posted 13 points in addition to five assists and five boards, and Tavian Myers, who went 6 of 12 on his way to 17 points. Those five assists gave Coleman a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole McGill, who earned nine points.

Morgan's loss dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Crooksville, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-11 and their overall record up to 7-12.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Morgan will venture away from home to challenge River View at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. River View will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Morgan surely won't give up without a fight. As for Crooksville, they are taking a road trip to take on Coshocton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Coshocton knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Crooksville likes a good challenge.
