The Kalaheo Mustangs will head out on the road to challenge the Nanakuli Golden Hawks at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Kalaheo is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.9 runs per game this season.
On Saturday, Kalaheo got the win against McKinley by a conclusive 11-1. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Cruz Antonelis and Caleb James were major factors no matter where they played. On the mound, Antonelis struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, James tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. At bat, Antonelis went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double, while James went 1-for-2 with three runs. Kalaheo is undefeated when James posts two or more runs, but 2-3 otherwise.
In other batting news, Alex O'Brien was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2025. Tanner Young was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Kalaheo hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Meanwhile, Nanakuli was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against Waipahu, falling 11-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Golden Hawks have suffered against the Marauders since April 6, 2019.
Nanakuli saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ezell Aweau, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base. Aweau also got a hit, marking his first of the season.
Nanakuli's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Kalaheo, their record is now 5-3.
Kalaheo skirted past Nanakuli 1-0 when the teams last played back in April of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
