If The Hopatcong Chiefs were feeling good off their 35-0 takedown of the Memorial Tigers last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Hopatcong was just a hair shy of victory on Thursday and fell 22-21 to Tenafly.
Hopatcong's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ryan White, who rushed for 122 yards and a touchdown. Micahel Certo was in the mix too, providing Hopatcong with two touchdowns.
Hopatcong has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Tenafly, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-4.
Hopatcong does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Tenafly will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Dumont at 10:30 a.m. on November 23rd.
