Softball Recap: Eminence Has No Trouble Against Irvington Preparatory Academy

Eminence was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Irvington Preparatory Academy on Tuesday. The Eels put the hurt on Irvington Preparatory Academy with a sharp 19-0 win. The Eels' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Emma Webb was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over five innings pitched. Webb was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, Eminence got a massive performance out of Khloee Kirk, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles Kirk has posted since back in May of 2024. Jillian Henderson was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one triple.

Eminence was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .719. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Eminence's record is now 2-3. As for Irvington Preparatory Academy, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-3.

Eminence has already played their next game (against Riverside), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Irvington Preparatory Academy, they will venture away from home to face off against Purdue Polytechnic at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Techies have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12 runs per game on average), something Irvington Preparatory Academy will no doubt try to take advantage of.
