Even though the Arroyo Dons scored an imposing 59 points on Saturday, the De Anza Dons still came out on top. De Anza walked away with a 68-59 victory over Arroyo. The victory made it back-to-back wins for De Anza.
De Anza found their leader in underclassman Ahmari Otis, who scored 34 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Otis has scored at least a third of De Anza's points. Jaleel Jackson was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
De Anza's victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Arroyo, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. De Anza will square off against St. Patrick-St. Vincent at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Patrick-St. Vincent knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 12 matches -- so hopefully De Anza likes a good challenge. As for Arroyo, they will head out on the road to challenge Washington on Wednesday. The timing is sure in Washington's favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home while Arroyo has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
