The Headland Rams can finally bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Carroll 44-41. The victory was just what Headland needed coming off of a 78-22 loss in their prior match.
Carroll lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Michael Culver, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Culver has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. N'jia Gosha was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with eight rebounds.
Headland's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-10-1. As for Carroll, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Headland will square off against New Brockton at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. New Brockton will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. Carroll on the road again on Friday and play against Red Level at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th.
