Hawthorne is 1-7 against Leuzinger since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Hawthorne Cougars will head out on the road to challenge the Leuzinger Olympians at 6:30 p.m. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Hawthorne has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Leuzinger will arrive with four straight victories.
Hawthorne suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 93-32 loss at the hands of Inglewood. Hawthorne was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 52-15.
Meanwhile, Leuzinger didn't have too much trouble with King/Drew on the road on Monday as they won 67-53.
Leuzinger's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joshua Garland, who scored 15 points. Garland hasn't dropped below 15points for five straight games. Tylan Kinsey was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Hawthorne's loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Leuzinger, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.
