The Mintz Christian Academy Lions entered their tilt with the Grace Christian Wildcats with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Mintz Christian Academy simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Grace Christian 74-44 on the road. Given Mintz Christian Academy's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 158th in North Carolina, while Grace Christian is ranked 572nd in South Carolina), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Mintz Christian Academy can attribute much of their success to Zach Honeycutt, who scored 22 points along with nine rebounds and five steals. Brayden Autrey was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Mintz Christian Academy's victory was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.7 points per game. As for Grace Christian, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Mintz Christian Academy will head out on the road to face off against Columbus Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Grace Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Temple Christian at 5:30 p.m. on January 12, 2024.
