The Hopewell Vikings lost against the Sto-Rox Vikings back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Hopewell took a serious blow against the Vikings, falling 63-36.
Sto-Rox got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was David Johnson out in front who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Johnson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Marcus Griffin was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Hopewell has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. As for Sto-Rox, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hopewell will take on the Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Pennsylvania (Blackhawk is ranked 489th, while the Vikings are ranked 492nd). As for Sto-Rox, they and the Ironmen will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Steel Valley is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
