Bishop McDevitt (Harrisburg, Pa.) grabbed the lead when
Nick Marsilio threw a touchdown to
Bryce Hall with under a minute left in the fourth quarter and held on to upset
Cathedral Prep (Erie, Pa.) 48-42 on Saturday. The score was the final lead change in a back-and-forth contest that featured six lead swaps.
The Ramblers pulled ahead on a touchdown, and subsequently went into halftime leading 28-27. The Crusaders took the lead to win the game on a touchdown pass by Marsilio to Hall in the fourth quarter.
Despite scoring 13 points in the third, Bishop McDevitt still trailed by two points going into the fourth quarter. But eight points in the fourth helped BM pull out the victory.
The Harrisburg school was able to dig itself out of a 15-point hole en route to the upset of Cathedral Prep.
Marsilio played well for the Crusaders in the victory. The junior quarterback threw three touchdowns. He has now scored seven touchdowns on the season.
CP came in giving up 10.6 points per game this season. The Erie school had a hard time against Bishop McDevitt's offense, which entered the game scoring 40.9 points per game.
The victory is a complete turnaround from last season's game between these two teams, which the Ramblers took, 38-3.
The loss comes after Cathedral Prep defeated West Allegheny 28-0 last week.
