Volleyball Recap: St. Laurence's Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

St. Laurence won the last time they faced Bremen and things went their way on Friday too. The Vikings came out on top against the Braves by a score of 2-0. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Vikings as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: St. Laurence took both sets by at least 12 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-13.

Their offense was headlined by Aubrey Martinez and McKenna Rake, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Keely Bowen and her 21 assists. Julie Marquez and Abby Ambrose kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

St. Laurence's win bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Bremen, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

St. Laurence has already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Lincoln-Way Central on the 19th. Bremen has also already played their next game (against Richards), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
