The Boyd Anderson Cobras's recent rough patch got a bit rougher  on Saturday after their sixth straight loss. They were beaten by Mater Lakes Academy 78-22. Boyd Anderson was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at  44-10.
 Boyd Anderson's  loss shouldn't obscure the performances of  Jakaylia Roland, who  scored 12 points along with seven  rebounds and seven  steals, and  Amariah Tomlinson who  scored six points along with seven  rebounds and three  steals. Tomlinson scored a full 27.3% of Boyd Anderson's points, the sixth time in a row she's  earned more than a third of the team's points.
 Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Boyd Anderson  struggled to work together and  finished the game with only two  assists. They  were crushed by their opponents in that department as Mater Lakes Academy  posted 19  assists.
 Mater Lakes Academy's win  was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from   Vanessa  Vancott, who  scored 24 points along with five  assists and five  rebounds. The  contest was  Vancott's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was  Valeria Cifuentes, who  scored 14 points along with seven  steals and six  assists.
 Boyd Anderson's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Mater Lakes Academy, the  victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-2.
 Boyd Anderson will be staying on the road  on Saturday to face off against Stoneman Douglas at 3:00  p.m.  on December 16th. Stoneman Douglas is coming into the  match on a three-game losing streak. Mater Lakes Academy and Wellington will face off  at 3:00  p.m.  on December 22nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Wellington will have to bring their A-game into this one,  as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 337th, while Mater Lakes Academy is ranked 137th).
