After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Cass Lake-Bena, the Clearbrook-Gonvick Bears were happy to have found some success on Friday. Everything went their way against Red Lake as Clearbrook-Gonvick made off with a 71-51 win. This was payback for Clearbrook-Gonvick, who suffered a 65-63 loss the last time these two teams met.
Red Lake's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ce?Angela Pemberton, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 10 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Pemberton, who scored 18 points along with 4 steals.
Clearbrook-Gonvick's victory bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Red Lake, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Clearbrook-Gonvick will be playing at home against Blackduck at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Red Lake, they will head out on the road to face off against Laporte at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
