The Jumpertown Cardinals won the last time they faced the Smithville Seminoles, and things went their way on Friday too. Jumpertown walked away with a 48-39 victory over the Seminoles.
Despite the defeat, Smithville saw an underclassman step up: Isabelle Summerford scored 15 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Summerford has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Halle Sargent, who scored four points along with two steals and two blocks.
Jumpertown's win bumped their record up to 4-14. As for Smithville, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 13 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jumpertown will square off against the Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Smithville, they and the Panthers will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Mississippi (West Lowndes is ranked 278th, while the Seminoles are ranked 256th).
