Ysleta has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Parkland Matadors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Ysleta will be strutting in after a victory while Parkland will be coming in after a loss.
Last Tuesday, Ysleta was able to grind out a solid victory over Hanks, taking the game 48-35.
Ysleta's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Azaiah Thompson, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds. Matthew Gonzalez was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Parkland's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight defeat. Their rough 64-44 defeat to Hanks might stick with them for a while.
Ysleta has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-10 record this season. As for Parkland, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-19 record this season.
Ysleta didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Parkland when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 51-46 victory. Will Ysleta repeat their success, or does Parkland have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
