If the Owatonna Huskies were feeling good off their 76-42 takedown of the Austin Packers last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Owatonna took a hard 74-55 fall against Winona on Tuesday. Owatonna has not had much luck with Winona recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Owatonna lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Morgan Fisher, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Ava Olson was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds.
Owatonna's loss dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Winona, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-7.
Owatonna will look to defend their home court on Friday against Mankato East at 7:30 p.m. Mankato East will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Owatonna surely won't give up without a fight. As for Winona, they will head out on the road to square off against Faribault at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Winona is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Faribault in Minnesota (Winona is ranked 83rd, while Faribault is ranked 342nd).
