Softball Recap: Chavez Wins Going Away Against Poly

Chavez had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Poly on Friday. The Eagles put the hurt on the Parrots with a sharp 14-4 win. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Parrots recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Chavez got a massive performance out of Alyssa Anaya, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Anaya has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Jordan Billingsley, who went 2-for-3 with five RBI, one run, and one double.

Chavez was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Poly only posted a batting average of .211.

The win got Chavez back to even at 12-12. As for Poly, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Chavez is set to challenge their familiar foe San Fernando at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Poly will face off against rival Verdugo Hills at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
