It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Cornwall Central Dragons had no problem doing just that on Friday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 47-8 victory over Our Lady of Lourdes. The win was just business as usual for Cornwall Central, who after 11 games remain undefeated this season.
Jaiden Laureano went supernova for Cornwall Central, rushing for 92 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries, while also throwing for 159 yards and four touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Cruz, who picked up 89 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Cornwall Central's victory bumped their record up to 11-0. As for Our Lady of Lourdes, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season.
Cornwall Central will face off against Niskayuna at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Niskayuna is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Our Lady of Lourdes does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
