West Brunswick lost a heartbreaker the last time they played South Brunswick, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Monday's game. The Trojans' pitchers stepped up to hand the Cougars a 6-0 shutout on Monday. Considering the Trojans have won seven matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Pressley Wilson and Olivia Brown made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Wilson didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 16 over 7.2 innings pitched. Meanwhile, Brown didn't allow a single earned run over 4.1 innings pitched. Wilson has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. At bat, Wilson went 3-for-6 with one triple, one stolen base, and one double, while Brown went 1-for-5 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Those three hits gave Wilson a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brooke Somers, who went 2-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Kady Long, who went 2-for-6 with one run and one double.
West Brunswick kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Ashley came up short against North Brunswick on Tuesday, falling 11-3. The Screaming Eagle haven't had much luck with the Scorpions recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.
Ashley saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elin Bentley, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one run and one double.
Ashley's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for West Brunswick, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 15-6.
Ashley's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. West Brunswick has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 11.6 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Ashley, though, as they've been averaging only 2.6 strikeouts. Will West Brunswick keep running through batters, or will the Screaming Eagle buck the trend?
West Brunswick got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in March against Ashley by a conclusive 11-5 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
