They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  3-2  win over the Providence Pioneers.  Floyd Central wouldn't go down easily and took Providence into a fifth set  where they got it done with a two-point win. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-22, 25-11, 19-25,  20-18.
 Among those leading the charge was   Ashton Timberlake, who  had 17  digs and three  aces. She is  on a roll when it comes to  digs, as she's  now  had 16 or more in the last three games she's  played dating back to last season.
 Floyd Central  was lethal from the service line and  finished the game with 17  aces. That's the most  aces they've posted since back in September of 2023.
 Providence's  loss shouldn't obscure the performances of  Brooklyn Borden, who  had 21  digs and two  aces, and  Hadley Hasselbring, who  had eight  kills, three  digs,  and a  block.
 The  victory was  the third in a row for Floyd Central, bringing their record for this year to 29-5. As for Providence,  the  defeat snapped their winning streak at three games  and leaves them with a 14-18 record.
 After both having extra time off, Floyd Central and Bloomington North will dust off their jerseys to  square off against  one another  at 1:00  p.m.  on Saturday. Floyd Central is looking to tack on another W to their seven-game streak on the road. Providence does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
