The Loveland Red Wolves's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They took a hard 69-51 fall against Mountain View. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Loveland in their matchups with Mountain View: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the loss, Loveland saw an underclassman step up: Courtlyn Yaussi scored 14 points along with six assists. Another player making a difference was Beth DeClement, who scored 15 points along with three steals.
Addison Branscum was her usual excellent self, scoring 28 points along with eight rebounds and two steals for Mountain View. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Branscum has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Meghan Keil, who scored eight points.
Loveland's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-15. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.2 points per game. As for Mountain View, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-7.
Loveland will be playing at home against Northglenn at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Loveland focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Saturday. As for Mountain View, they will head out on the road to face off against Northridge at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
