Freedom has gone a perfect 9-0 against Little Chute recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Irish will head out to square off against the Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. Freedom's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Little Chute's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Freedom gave up the first runs on Monday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 7-2 win over Marinette. The victory continues a trend for the Irish in their matchups with the Marines: they've now won six in a row.

04/17/25 @ Clintonville | 8 |
04/15/25 vs Waupaca | 8 |
Kailey Stordeur spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Jovie Smith was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Marlee Smith, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double.
Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Little Chute ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Waupaca, sneaking past 3-2. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Little Chute also let their pitcher toss all nine innings and she was also dialed-in: Hayden Burton gave up two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Danica Pfrang, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Jenna Whalley was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run and one double.
Freedom's record is now 5-3. As for Little Chute, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-9.
Little Chute's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Friday. Freedom has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Little Chute, though, as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.1 strikeouts. Will Freedom keep running through batters, or will the Mustangs buck the trend?
Freedom took their victory against Little Chute in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 8-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Irish since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
