Esparto was the victim of a rough 60-40 defeat at the hands of Vacaville Christian on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Esparto has suffered since December 18, 2023.
Esparto lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Cohen Sihapanya, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds. Sihapanya continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Angel Torres, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and four blocks.
Esparto's defeat dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Vacaville Christian, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-9.
Esparto will face off against Golden Sierra at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Golden Sierra has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Vacaville Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Highlands at 7:30 p.m.
