Woodlands is 4-0 against the Raiders since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, both teams will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 4:30 p.m. on February 6th. Hamilton took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Woodlands, who comes in off a win.
Woodlands came into Tuesday's matchup having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They pulled ahead with a 57-56 photo finish over Blind Brook. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
It was another big night for Ashari Emuze, who scored 47 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. That makes it eight consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Woodlands' points. Natalia Grabriele was another key contributor, scoring six points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought matchup, but Hamilton had to settle for a 48-45 loss against the Tigers two weeks ago. Hamilton has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Woodlands' win bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Hamilton, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season.
Woodlands barely slipped by the Raiders when the teams last played back in January of 2020, winning 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Woodlands since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
