Fountain Valley came tearing into Monday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26 points) and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past the Ocean View Seahawks with points to spare, taking the game 65-51. Given the Barons' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 74th, while the Seahawks are ranked 688th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ocean View's loss came despite strong showings from Zeke Case and Cavin Flanagan. Case dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds, while Flanagan posted 14 points. Case is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Caleb Kim was another key player, putting up six points.

Fountain Valley's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Ocean View, they dropped their record down to 1-6 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Fountain Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 61-55 win against Tesoro on the 10th. As for Ocean View, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 67-55 loss against California on the 10th.
