The Silliman Institute Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by Oak Forest Academy 70-29. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Silliman Institute has scored all season.
Oak Forest Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Trendan Spears out in front who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Garrett Shoemaker, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Silliman Institute's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Oak Forest Academy, they pushed their record up to 19-7 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Silliman Institute will take on Oak Forest Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Oak Forest Academy, they will play host again and welcome Columbia Academy, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Columbia Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 218th in Mississippi, while Oak Forest Academy is ranked 51st in Louisiana).
