Tuslaw and Manchester are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2022, but likely not for long. The Mustangs will take on the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Tuslaw is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Canton Central Catholic as they made off with a 14-4 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Mustangs sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Gabby McGowen spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four runs (all of which were unearned) on 12 hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kailey Valentine, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hadley Porter, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, one run, and one double.
Tuslaw was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .481. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .351 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, while Manchester put up some runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Girard. The Panthers blew past the Indians 6-0.
Cassidy Perry was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Perry was even better at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Chloe White was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI. Kami Farlin also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.
Tuslaw's record now sits at 20-5. As for Manchester, their record is now 19-4.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Wednesday. Tuslaw hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.8 home runs per game. However, it's not like Manchester struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1.3 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Tuslaw came out on top in a nail-biter against Manchester in their previous meeting back in April, sneaking past 7-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
