Rosepine is 8-2 against DeQuincy since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Eagles will be playing at home against the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Rosepine's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over Vinton.
Marli Jones was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Jones was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Sophia Loftin was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Analeigh Roberts was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Rosepine was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. They are 6-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, DeQuincy came tearing into Tuesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Trojans with a sharp 11-0 win.
Like Rosepine, DeQuincy also got a great game from a two-way player: Maddie Vinatieri. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Vinatieri was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, DeQuincy let Kayden Whotte and Onnie Remedies run wild. Whotte went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI, while Remedies went 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Valencia Walker, who earned two runs and one stolen base.
DeQuincy's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Rosepine, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.
DeQuincy's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Thursday. Rosepine has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.9 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for DeQuincy, though, as they've been averaging only 4.1 strikeouts. Will Rosepine keep running through batters, or will the Tigers buck the trend?
Rosepine skirted past DeQuincy 3-2 when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
