The Fort Bend Dulles Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the Fort Bend Clements Rangers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Fort Bend Dulles is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
Last Friday, Fort Bend Dulles came up short against Fort Bend Elkins and fell 21-12.
Despite the defeat, Fort Bend Dulles got a solid performance out of Camden Ross, who rushed for 130 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Fort Bend Clements was beaten by Fort Bend Hightower 71-13 on Friday. While losing is never fun, Fort Bend Clements can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 484th, while Fort Bend Hightower is ranked 58th).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Gunner Chenier, who threw for 199 yards and two touchdowns while completing 94.7% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidan Zhou, who picked up 115 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Fort Bend Dulles' loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 1-8. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 6.2 points per game. As for Fort Bend Clements, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
Fort Bend Dulles came up short against Fort Bend Clements in their previous meeting back in November of 2022, falling 35-31. Can Fort Bend Dulles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
