After a string of three wins, the Oswego Indians's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They were the victim of a tough 60-34 defeat at the hands of Erie. Oswego has not had much luck with Erie recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Despite the loss, Oswego still got an impressive performance from Tanner O'Neal, who scored 11 points along with four steals. O'Neal scored a full 32.4% of Oswego's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rayden Myers, who scored seven points along with nine rebounds.
Ethan Dillinger continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Erie, dropping a double-double on 32 points and ten rebounds. Dillinger set a new season high mark in assists with six. Another player making a difference was Reid Duff, who scored eight points along with six rebounds.
Oswego's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Erie, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.
Oswego will head out on the road to face off against Cedar Vale/Dexter at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Kansas (Cedar Vale/Dexter is ranked 187th, while Oswego is ranked 198th). Erie will be home for the holidays to greet Uniontown at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Uniontown is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
