Salem is 0-10 against Kellam since April of 2016 but things could change on Thursday. The Sundevils will venture away from home to face off against the Knights at 5:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Salem lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Green Run, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's contest. The Sundevils beat the Stallions on Tuesday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 17-3. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Hannah Hebert made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Arianny Driggers, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mia Delfarvero, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI and two runs.
Salem always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Green Run only posted an OBP of .250.
Meanwhile, Kellam got the win against Tallwood on Tuesday by a conclusive 8-2. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won 12 games by six runs or more so far this season.
Kellam has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Salem, their victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-13 and their overall record up to 5-14.
Salem might still be hurting after the 17-5 loss they got from Kellam when the teams last played back in April. Can the Sundevils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
