The Bloomington Bobcats/Lady Cats pushed their score all the way to 55 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 59-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Falfurrias. While losing is never fun, Bloomington can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1245th, while Falfurrias is ranked 468th).
Falfurrias can attribute much of their success to Marcos Gonzalez, who scored 14 points along with 5 steals. The match was Gonzalez's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Nate Perez, who scored 7 points.
Bloomington now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Falfurrias, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 12-1.
Bloomington will be playing in front of their home fans against Robstown at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Falfurrias will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Benavides at 7:30 a.m. on December 12th.
