Overton entered their tilt with Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet on Monday with nine consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with ten. They never let the Royals get on the board and left with a 19-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Bobcats, who have now won 12 games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Kaliyha Finley-Gray made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Talitha Winningham was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Hana Kajihara was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Overton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .828. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Overton's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-9.

Coming up, Overton will challenge Lipscomb Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mustangs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Bobcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet, they will host Hume-Fogg at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
