The Gadsden County Jaguars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Godby on the road and fell 65-15. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Gadsden County in their matchups with Godby: they've now lost four in a row.
Godby's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aniyah Lewis, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Lewis is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Kenijah Clayton was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with three steals.
Gadsden County's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Godby, their win bumped their record up to 11-4.
Gadsden County will be playing at home against Taylor County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Godby, they will head out on the road to face off against Rutherford at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Rutherford is on a six-game streak of home wins, Godby a five-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
