It was a good run, but The Cornersville Bulldogs unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 23-14 to Eagleville. Cornersville lost against Eagleville in their previous head to head back in September of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 28-14 score last time.
When it comes to explaining why Cornersville lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ben Franklin. Despite the final result, he rushed for 300 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.7 yards per carry. Franklin hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for seven straight games.
Eagleville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kaleb Snitzer led the charge by rushing for 78 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries.
Cornersville's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Eagleville, their victory was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cornersville will be staying on the road on November 3rd to face off against McKenzie at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. McKenzie knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matches -- so hopefully Cornersville likes a good challenge. As for Eagleville, they will head out on the road to face off against West Carroll at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. West Carroll is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
