Juab was the 74-71 winner over Payson when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Juab Wasps took a blow against the Payson Lions on Wednesday, falling 82-48. The Wasps' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Several Wasps players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Trent Baker, who posted 11 points. Another player making a difference was Madix Stowell, who went 5 of 8 en route to 10 points and eight rebounds.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Payson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Joesph Wolfe, who went 6 of 9 on his way to 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kade Jenson, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 11 points along with six assists and six steals.

Juab's loss dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Payson, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Juab didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, an 82-52 win against Carbon on the 12th. Payson has also already played their next game, a 70-64 victory against Salem Hills on the 13th.
