Northern Nash was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 43-42 to Nash Central. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Northern Nash in their matchups with Nash Central: they've now lost four in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Nash Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than JaKayla Gay, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Gay has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. Cameron Fate was another key contributor, scoring four points along with 17 rebounds and two steals.
Northern Nash's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Nash Central, their win bumped their record up to 12-7.
Northern Nash will head out on the road to square off against Franklinton at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Franklinton will roll in looking for their 19th straight victory, something Northern Nash surely won't give up without a fight. As for Nash Central, they will be playing at home against Bunn at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Bunn is coming into the contest with ten straight defeats on the road, meaning Nash Central will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory.
