The Latta Vikings were the 37-32 winner over the Green Sea Floyds Trojans when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Latta took a 61-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Green Sea Floyds on Friday.
Despite the loss, Latta still got an impressive performance from Dorian Griffin, who scored 30 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Griffin has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Elijah Jones, who scored six points along with three steals.
Latta struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They are winless (0-3) when they just don't pass the ball.
Latta's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Green Sea Floyds, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-9.
Latta will take on East Clarendon at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (East Clarendon is ranked 294th, while Latta is ranked 289th). As for Green Sea Floyds, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Lamar at 7:30 p.m. Lamar is hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses.
