The Virgin Valley Bulldogs couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 40-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pine View.
Despite the defeat, Virgin Valley saw an underclassman step up: Mady Wright scored 7 points along with 4 steals. Audrey Fiso was another key contributor, scoring 5 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pine View to victory, but perhaps none more so than Claire LeFevre, who scored 8 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. Another player making a difference was Charity Falaniko, who scored 5 points along with 6 rebounds.
Virgin Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Pine View, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Virgin Valley will be playing at home against Enterprise at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Pine View, they will head out on the road to face off against Juab at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
