Baseball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for University

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but University ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 win over the Lawrence North Wildcats. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Trailblazers have posted since May 17, 2024.

Beckett Suh and Griffin Wright did most of the damage at the plate: Suh went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Wright got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs. Another player making a difference was Cooper Burnett, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI.

The win was the fourth in a row for University, bringing their record up to 11-8. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8.5 runs. As for Lawrence North, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-12.

University wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 6-4 defeat against Cathedral on the 8th. As for Lawrence North, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 8-2 victory against Ben Davis on the 9th.
