The regular season was a success, but the real challenge begins now, in the postseason. This Saturday Delbarton (2-8) takes on Seton Hall Prep (2-7) in the first playoff game of the year. Seton Hall Prep will be looking to take advantage of a struggling Delbarton defense that has allowed an average of 31 points per game.
Delbarton went up against Paramus Catholic last week. The Delbarton offense had a slow start and went into the break having scored zero points. That left it at a 14 - 0 disadvantage. Delbarton's troubles only continued in the second half, where it put up six points. The net result was a 14 - 6 defeat.
As for Seton Hall Prep, after flying high the game before (44 points), it faltered in its previous match. It has to be hurting after a devastating 28 - 7 defeat at the hands of Bergen Catholic last game. Junior Vincent Henrich didn't go down without a fight, though. He put up some defensive resistance with 14 tackles.
Neither Delbarton nor Seton Hall Prep managed to put together many points in its previous game, so their meeting could be a low-scoring affair. Check back on MaxPreps to find out which team can eke out a win.
