Indian Rocks Christian and Largo are an even 4-4 against one another since April of 2015, but likely not for long. The Indian Rocks Christian Eagles will be playing at home against the Largo Packers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Indian Rocks Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.
Indian Rocks Christian is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 19 runs on Thursday, they were much more limited against Calvary Christian on Monday. They lost 12-1 to the Warriors. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Indian Rocks Christian saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cooper Ryan, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Largo had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Patriots.
Brady Allan tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits over 4.1 innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in May of 2024.
Largo's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Indian Rocks Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Indian Rocks Christian has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Largo struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Indian Rocks Christian came up short against Largo in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, falling 5-0. Can Indian Rocks Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
