Cambridge had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They took their game against Brookfield Academy by a conclusive 41-7 score. That result is just more of the same for Cambridge, who also won the last time these teams played.
No one had a larger role in the success than senior Riley Olson, who brought his A game into the match. He punched in 2 rushing TDs and snatched 2 receiving TDs. This was the first game for both teams, giving Cambridge a 1-0 record and starting Brookfield Academy off at 0-1.
Next week, Cambridge take on Cochrane-Fountain City at 7:00 PM. As for Brookfield Academy, they will face of against Deerfield. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous game, so their meeting could be a low-scoring affair.
